The Very Best Of...Kiehl's

I only really have two obsessions when it comes to the beauty industry, first being Foundation's & secondly, Skincare. There's nothing more satisfying than finding a new skin product that's effective and actually works. At the age of 12 I was gifted the Clinique 3 Step for my birthday and I still use it religiously nearly 6 years later, so I've only ventured out and experimented with things like serums, oils and eye creams.

I do tend to stick with what I know when it comes to serums and for me it was always Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair right up until about 6 months ago. Around that time, I started noticing that i had quite a few, very small 'Ice Pick' scars on my cheeks and it was really starting to get to me, so i Googled the best scar treatment or product, as you do, and the one product that kept popping up every time, was the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, £36 for 30mls.

I immediately visited my local counter and had a consultation with one of the ladies in the white lab coats, and she sent me home with about a weeks supply of the CCDSP (they're really brilliant about samples and testers!)

I tried the sample that night, and the following morning i was gob smacked. My skin had never looked better, the appearance was a lot more smooth and strangely more, plump? When i ran out of the samples the first thing i did was buy a full sized, and then when that ran out, another, and another.. are you seeing a pattern here? Over the 6 months my skin looks so much better, and i have this to thank. I really do love it. I also find it's really helped prevent breakouts over the duration and it's helped with the scarring, which was my main skin worry at the time. If you're suffering with acne or the aftermath, i really recommend giving this a go, and also remember, Kiehl's are excellent for samples!

Do we really need sunscreen everyday?

I honestly thought when i was having the consultation with the Kiehl's specialist, and she was trying to sell me a sunblock, i immediately thought no. Not another step of something that they claim to be the next big thing, when really it's just a massive swizz.
Anyway, i had the samples of it lying in my drawer and when i saw that Lily Pebbles was raving about it, i immediately cut open and smeared it all over my face, not quite what happened, but pretty close.
I read a lot more into the product and gained quite a bit of knowledge about it, i learnt that it's the company's best selling product and one of their oldest.
They say to use this product everyday, no matter what climate, what country or what age, and it'll prevent premature wrinkles and help slow down the process of ageing, all caused by the sun's rays.
So i guess i won't really know if this is worth the hype at the moment, but i'll only be able to know in 50 years if i look 70 or 35, but the main thing is, it is important to use a sunblock everyday..but if a £35 Kiehl's one is better than the regular drugstore one, that's for you to decide.
